Special Planning People
William J. Parker

William J. Parker, CEO and founder of Special Planning LLC, and his wife Deborah, have six children, three of whom have neurodevelopment disabilities and special needs. Known by his friends as Bill, he has dedicated a large part of his life advocating for families and children with disabilities. Bill has served on several National Boards, including the Mind Institute at UC Davis in Sacramento and the National Fragile X Foundation, as well as chairing the Board of the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Bill is a Certified Estate Planner and has over 27 years of experience in estate and financial planning. He also writes a national column on special needs planning and spends a lot of time in Washington, D.C. educating legislators on the overlooked, and in large part misunderstood, world of families with disabled children and the battles they face on a daily basis.
After meeting parents and families from all over the United States, Bill realized that most families were overwhelmed by the thought of estate planning. He discovered that they did not know where to begin or, more importantly, who to trust. He has spent over five years putting the right people in the right places -- researching attorneys and advisors nationwide, gathering a list of resources for each state.
We hope that you take the time to use our web site to educate yourself about special needs planning and allow us to help you take the first step toward ensuring that your child's future lifestyle is not left to chance. We are always accessible to answer questions and offer support and guidance when it comes to this very emotional subject. We look forward to hearing from you so that we can start your family on the journey toward peace of mind. As parents and professionals, Bill and his partners are committed to helping families throughout the United States through education, service and quality of information.
Please take the time today to take the next step – there is no obligation and taking the first step feels great!
